ICMR-NIRT Conducts TB Awareness Programme for CISF Personnel at CPCL, Manali

As part of the 100 Day TB Free India 2026 Campaign, the Department of Social and Behavioral Science, ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, in collaboration with Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), Manali, Chennai, organized a two-day Tuberculosis awareness programme on 19th and 20th May 2026 for personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the CISF campus, CPCL, Manali.


The programme aimed to enhance awareness regarding Tuberculosis, including its symptoms, prevention, treatment, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment adherence. Informative sessions were delivered by Mrs. Rani, Technical Officer, and Ms. Yasawany, Technical Assistant of ICMR-NIRT.

To further engage participants and promote effective health communication, MSW interns and MPH students presented an awareness skit highlighting key messages related to TB prevention, stigma reduction, and treatment compliance.


Around 60 CISF personnel participated in the programme. The event was felicitated by Shri Arjun J, Deputy Commandant, CISF Unit, CPCL, Manali. Dr. Vijay Anand, Chief Manager (Medical-OHS), CPCL, coordinated the programme.
